Farewell Flowers

Our condolences that you are here

Losing someone creates significant pressures upon those left behind. We want to do the right thing by our loved one, including the hymns or music, the choice of food, speeches and the location for any after service gathering.

One element of the day that can be made a little easier is organising your floral tribute.

At Hope and Glory we have significant experience in working with those who find themselves bemused with the variety of choices for saying goodbye.  Farewell flowers can be selected that not only reflect the character and wishes of the departed, but also do so in a manner that creates least environmental impact.

Why choose plastic-free funeral flowers?

Farewell flowers serve a very specific purpose on a single day, often for just a few hours. The impact of this is significant and it is estimated that each year more than 14,670 cubic metres of floral foam and single use plastic are sent to landfill from UK crematoriums. To put that in context that is the equivalent of 6 Olympic swimming pools.

Faced by so many decisions, many select the first flowers in the Funeral Director’s catalogue.  These are often made to a formula without considering current seasonality or the environmental impact of the materials used to create the designs.

At Hope and Glory we can provide eco-friendly funeral flowers, made without plastics or plastic-derived floral foam and always including some UK grown flowers or foliage.  For many years sustainability has been the focus at Hope and Glory and we always have a range of eco-floristry supplies available. All of the packaging of our farewell flowers are either reusable, natural, recycled, recyclable, biodegradable or compostable.

Please take a moment to review our range of floral tributes. If you have questions, just contact us, we are ready to help you organise the day ahead.
